Site Inspector / QAQC & Snagging Engineer (Fit-Out & Renovation)

  • On-site
    • Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Onboarding & Fitout

Job description

Role Summary
We are hiring a hands-on Site Inspector / QAQC & Snagging Engineer to represent the client side and monitor a third-party contractor delivering the HIVE Business Center renovation. You will ensure works are executed correctly, documented properly, and handed over defect-free. During quieter periods, you will support internal tasks (procurement coordination, document control, minor project follow-ups) as we scale our contracting business.

Key Responsibilities (Primary – HIVE Project Monitoring)
• Conduct daily/regular site inspections for fit-out, finishing, and MEP coordination.
• Verify works match approved drawings, specs, method statements, and site instructions.
• Prepare snag lists (with photos), track closure, and verify rectification quality.
• Control stage approvals before works are covered (MEP first fix, waterproofing, ceiling close, tiling, joinery installation).
• Witness and record testing & commissioning checks (as applicable): pressure tests, drainage tests, insulation, basic functional checks.
• Identify risks early (quality, safety, delays) and report with clear corrective actions.
• Maintain a simple daily/weekly report: progress, issues, photos, decisions needed.
• Support management in variation review by confirming actual site conditions and quantities (basic level).

Secondary Responsibilities (When Site Load Is Lower)
• Basic document control: filing drawings, approvals, site reports, warranties, manuals.
• Coordinate with suppliers for small purchases, follow-ups, and delivery tracking.
• Assist in creating checklists/templates for fit-out QA and handover packs.
• Support on other small renovation sites (snagging, inspections).

Job requirements

Requirements
• 3–7+ years of UAE experience in fit-out/renovation (commercial preferred).
• Strong snagging knowledge: civil/finishes + MEP coordination (not necessarily expert MEP design).
• Able to read drawings and identify wrong installation before it’s hidden.
• High attention to detail; strong photo documentation and reporting discipline.
• Comfortable dealing with contractors firmly but professionally.
• Proficient with Google Sheets/Docs or MS Office; can produce clean reports.
• UAE driving license preferred.

Advantage (Nice to Have)
• Knowledge of authority requirements (DCD/Dubai Civil Defense coordination basics, DEWA interface, etc.).
• Experience with handover documentation: O&M manuals, warranties, asset lists.
• QS/measurement ability for basic quantity checks.

KPIs (How Success Is Measured)
• Reduction in rework/defects at handover; snag closure cycle time.
• % of issues detected before closing/covering works.
• Quality of reporting and evidence (photos, traceability).
• Contractor accountability and response time to snags.
